Moving budget
Always start with your moving budget as this is going to affect a lot of the other aspects you need to pre-plan for your move. It is best to make a budget range instead of a fixed budget goal. Narrow down which season you want to move. This is very important because you may have to plan your move differently depending on the season. For example, if you choose to move in winter, then you will have to plan for things like snow removal and heating your new home before you arrive.

After you’ve narrowed down the season, now you’ve got to narrow down your moving dates. You don’t have to choose an exact moving date yet, but you should pre-plan as to whether you will be able to do a mid-week move (which is often cheaper than a weekend move) or whether you must move during the end of the month (which tends to be more expensive than a mid-month move).
